Recruiting Warehouse Pickers: How to Assess Order Accuracy
Build a warehouse picker assessment around item codes, quantities, damaged goods and safe working rather than speed alone.

Fast picking is useful only when the right products reach the right customer. Employers recruiting warehouse pickers from Bangladesh or the GCC should make accuracy visible during selection, particularly where product names and packaging look similar.
Prepare a realistic sample
Create a short mock order using representative item codes and quantities. Include two products with similar labels and a clearly marked damaged item. Use a training area with safe handling arrangements. The exercise should reflect the workplace without exposing candidates to uncontrolled operations.
Watch the checking process
Does the candidate compare the code or rely on the colour of the box? Do they verify quantities before closing the order? Ask what they would do if a location contains fewer units than the system shows. A good answer includes reporting a discrepancy rather than inventing a substitute or changing a record without authority.
Separate language from product knowledge
A candidate unfamiliar with your product range may still follow clear instructions accurately. Establish which reading and communication skills are essential on day one and which can be trained. If your scanner interface uses a particular language, show a representative screen during assessment.
Explain performance expectations
Do not quote an isolated pick-rate target without explaining order complexity, travel distance, handling equipment and breaks. Review quality and safe practice alongside output. A recruit who rushes through an unsafe task is not demonstrating a reliable working method.
After joining
Use supervised practice on actual stock locations, then review common errors with the worker. Record training needs before assigning unfamiliar orders. For Rapidocs sourcing, share the product category, order format, shift pattern and equipment so interviews can focus on relevant experience.
